    Application Fee

A $70 non-refundable application fee is required for each graduate application submitted. If you plan to apply to more than one program, there is a separate application and fee for each program. Rutgers must receive the fee or a fee waiver before your application will be considered complete and ready for review.

Note: Fee waivers are granted to active U.S. Military and Military Veterans who plan to apply for educational benefits under the GI Bill, Rutgers alumni, and participants in certain scholar programs, such as McNair. You will be automatically reviewed for fee waiver eligibility based on the information you provide on your application.

    Official Transcripts

All official transcripts must be sent directly to Graduate Admissions from your institution. Official transcripts can be sent electronically via Parchment, eScrip-Safe, or National Student Clearinghouse. We also accept official electronic transcripts from India sent via TrueCopy Credentials. Applicants from Chinese institutions should request and submit official transcripts directly through CHESICC.

If your institution requires a Rutgers email address to send your transcripts electronically, please use this email address: e-transcripts@gradadm.rutgers.edu. If your institution is mailing your official transcripts, all transcripts can be mailed to:

    Standardized Test Scores

Requirements for standardized test scores vary from program to program. Review your program for specific requirements. If you are sending GRE or TOEFL scores, the Rutgers institution code is 2790.

    Letters of Recommendation

If your program requires letters of recommendation (LOR), you will provide the email addresses of your recommenders during the application process. Be sure to contact your recommenders in advance to inform them that they will receive an email from Graduate Admissions requesting that they submit the recommendation online. All letters of recommendation remain confidential and are not accessible to the applicant during the application process.

    Personal Statement

Your personal statement is a short essay indicating your program interest and why you would be an excellent candidate. Personal statement requirements vary from program to program. Review your program for specific requirements.
